Di Caprio ruining one of the most pristine island of the west coast, Koh Phiphi (with his movie the beach), becoming a tourist shit hole for overtanned scandi's, I decided to aim for an old school scuba diving island, Koh Tao; still beautiful and moderately touristy on the south side, the result was:
Scuba diving/ beach bars/more scuba diving. Heaven!

Chang Mai and Pai. Very few pictures and very lazy attitude. Couchsurfing again, with Rob and Dave this time. I didn't do much beside fixing my laptop, avoiding Lady boys and watching probably the worst movies ever made, yes you can find worst that Steven Seagal or Tom Berenger movies; try Bangkok dangerous with Nicolas Cage or Myst from Stephen King... hours of fun, I garantee you... Sunday at the reservoir, A few days biking around Pai, drinking beer while slagging the hippies in Pai (you know...hippies smell, unshaved armpitts, all that...) and finally going to Dave's gig ended my trip to the north. To follow, 24 hourshell ride from Chang Mai to Koh Tao island...
Bangkok train station.
On the night train... and with James brown song in my head the whole trip...
Pai night market.

Making fun of the hippies...

The flower market in chang Mai.
Ok, I know I've pretty much a month to catch up; not that i've been kidnapped by some Thai rebels, but you know as soon as you hit the beach, you can of get lazy... very lazy. Anyway Bangkok was a shock after spending a month in super chilled out Cambodia. More cars, more pollution, more lady boys... more anything. Couchsurfing in Sukhumvit, the trendy-expat-upper class Thai neighbourhood, I spent more time in 'my' roof top swimming pool that in Buddhist temples... after 6 month who gives a damn about fake golden temples really? Thanks again John for the accomodation and for showing me all the local eateries (sweet slow roasted pork....hmmmm...).
Roof top swimming pool... and I'm not showing the fitness centre.
Sunset from the roof top.
Looking at the working class from my roof top...yeah I know, I'm a prick.
Local sculpture... and without magic mushroom ladies and gentlemen.
Walking in a shopping centre? what are you, nuts??
Short cultural break.
Sunday at Lumphini Park for a classical music session.
Ok, royal Palace, but that's the only freaking temples I'm gonna see!
German helmet, Thai style? Quest-ce que tu fous avec une
cloche a fromage sur la tete malheureux!
Now far in the North of Thailand, in Chang Mai, I realize that I haven't given my much love to my blog for a good while. Part of that, my experience in S.C.A.O for 2 good weeks, teaching English, playing with the kids and generally helping around the orphanage. This whole experience was so intense that I find it hard to tell the whole story; so I'm not gonna do it; I'm just posting a bunch of pictures which hopefully will give you a little taste of what was my life there.
The class room.
Ma, for once focused.
The old railway crossing Phnom Chhouk village.
Around the orphanage.

Slow but sure? Something like that...
