Song of the day: Let's dance, Dah Vid Boa vih, UK- cambodian singer.
Time to leave my Mondulkiri crew, Travis, Jenna, Natalie and James and head to Ratanakiri: and no, It's not a martial art but a province in North-east cambodia.
12 hours by pick-up truck and local bus, would have been ok if I didn't need so badly to piss.
Anyway, up at 6am to get there at 8pm on one of the bumpiest road I've ever seen. The bus was dancing like a little devil, kids throwing up, adults eating salted eggs and me listening to David Bowie.
I spent the next 3 days hiking and swimming in a cratere lake, known as the best swimming pool in cambodia. I noticed there that I was, first, one of the only white guy or Barang and secondly the only one actually able to swim, and bare chest on the top of that. Indeed, people in cambodia swim with a rescue jacket and fully dressed; I mean the total package: shirt, trousers, jewelry, everything.
Kids loved me because I was able to dive and do some sort a figures, it was absolutely rubbish but it made them happy; unless there where just laughing at me.
The next day I rented my first motorbike, 4 gears and 100 horsepower, not a monster of power but a cracking way to discover the province.
Tired ?
